Forms of Adoption
LGBT adoption is the adoption of child/children by lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender (LGBT) persons.
Four forms of adoption is determined, such as:
Joint Adoption: Same-sex couple, married/unmarried, jointly adopts a child.
Step-parent Adoption: One partner of a married same-sex couple adopts the other partner’s biological/adopted child.
Second Parent Adoption: One partner of a same-sex couple, married/unmarried, adopts the other partner’s biological/adopted child.
Single-parent Adoption:Adoption a child by single LGBT person.
Adoption as a human right
